sometimes it is like a burdensome lingering on me..i need energy to boost my spirit..emm i wonder whether it is a sign that i’m getting old and can’t take anymore studies..Yeah studies..taking about it makes me realized that i’ve been a such “consistent” student..very consistent..that at this age i’m still open books n read n write and present..typical student haaa!!!

i did my diploma , degree and flew to london to get my ACCA, still haven’t complete huhu..came back to Malaysia, got a job as an audit associate at one of the big4 firms..married!!! he wanted a wife who can spend time with family rather than stuck in front of the laptop 24/7….now here i am..struggling to complete my master..oohhh please don’t mention about PHD..long way to go..i need to start a family and living normal..

The leek, Allium ampeloprasum var. porrum (L.), also sometimes known as Allium porrum, is a vegetable which belongs, along with the onion and garlic, to the Alliaceae family. Two related vegetables, the elephant garlic and kurrat, are also variant subspecies of Allium ampeloprasum, although different in their uses as food.

The edible part of the leek plant is a bundle of leaf sheaths which is sometimes called a stem or stalk.Leeks are easy to grow from seed and tolerate standing in the field for an extended harvest. Leeks usually reach maturity in the autumn months, and they have few pest or disease problems. Leeks can be bunched and harvested early when they are about the size of a finger or pencil, or they can be thinned and allowed to grow to a much larger mature size. Hilling leeks can produce better specimens.

The edible portions of the leek are the white onion base and light green stalk. The onion-like layers form around a core. The tender core may be eaten; but, as the leek ages, the core becomes woody and very chewy and better replanted than eaten.

Leek has a mild onion-like taste, although less bitter than scallion. The taste might be described as a mix of mild onion and cucumber. It has a fresh smell similar to scallion. In its raw state, the vegetable is crunchy and firm.

Leek is typically chopped into slices 5-10mm thick. The slices have a tendency to fall apart, due to the layered structure of the leek. There are different ways of preparing the vegetable:

• Boiled, which turns it soft and mild in taste.
• Fried, which leaves it more crunchy and preserves the taste.
• Raw, which can be used in salads, doing especially well when they are the prime ingredient.
• A traditional Welsh cawl (a form of soup) is made with leek; the cawl is made using root vegetables such as swede, carrots and potatoes and different meats. Lamb is the most popular. Cawl has been enjoyed by the nation since the 14th century and has great significance to the ancient Welsh King Gruffydd ap Llywelyn.

Leeks are an ingredient of cock-a-leekie soup, leek and potato soup and vichyssoise, along with leek soup.

Because of their symbolism in Wales (see below), they have come to be used extensively in that country’s cuisine, while in the rest of Britain leeks have only come back into favour in the last fifty years or so, having been overlooked for several centuries^[1].

so what i cooked using my 2 ’LEEKS”..i made my homemade FRITTATA n Tom Yum soup..yummy!!!!

Yesterday went out to MITC melaka PC fair..first intention of course looking for a new netbook for me..i’ve been eyeing this sony vaio W series  and hubby agreed in advance to get me one..(he is being so keen to get the wife using smaller version of notebook) .pity me for carrying  heavy laptop since forever..once we found variety of models and way cheaper than vaio..i’ve changed my mind (with the “help” from him for sure)..typical business minded..CUT CUT CUT somemore..haish!!!

Alhamdulillah last friday  09/10/09, we had settled the 10% home  deposit to the developer..insyalllah by year 2011, we will move out to this new house..For time being this is what we can afford to :)..Since this is the first time we bought a property ..thus, it requires lots of effort and time incurred. I remembered before we hooked up with this house, hubby and I used to survey so many places, so many launching (free food !!!) and tonnes of pamphlet obtained..still we can’t make up our mind.Some developers do offer free gifts like electrical appliances, furnitures n etc but the location was not appealing at all..It was so difficult for both of us to agree on the same house, design and importantly location…Well.. you are talking about buying a property costing RM 150k – 250K..of course we need a detailed of deliberation an discussion.

This house is not really in my top priority…huhu coz i have others in my mind..but thinking of our economic condition right now this is the best  :)..hubby loves the location so much :)..

Nothing much happened lately..i’m concentrating with my studies.Alhamdullilah just finished the final exam..another 2 more papers to go before completing my dissertation.(i haven’t start any..Oh God pls help me!!).Hopefully to pass all the papers//I found this semester a lil bit tougher than the prior one..

hope to update more soon..I really need a break now..anyone,  Please take me somewhere…..
